More about the ICAC report

In 2022, the Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC) released Failing the Corruption Road Test: Corruption risks in South Australia’s Driver Training Industry.

The report identified multiple areas of misconduct across the driver training industry, including:

  • Issuing licences to applicants who weren’t competent

  • Accepting bribes

  • Engaging in inappropriate behaviours with minors

  • Deceptive behaviours, including misrepresenting accreditation

  • Refusal to issue receipts for cash payments

  • Training applicants for a licence on testing routes

The report outlines and exposes wrongdoing from authorised examiners, and makes 9 recommendations for improvements.
